19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player claimed his maiden trophy for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult period, winning just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in specific - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Now collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently improved in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought three-set win over opponent Moutet.

This represents the player's initial title following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court since March of 2023.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one different events.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is particularly special," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his previous six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.

The player's retrieving strategy and regular reactions on court had caused commentators to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was finished.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an improved serving game.

He came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.

Both players exchanged service breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his first professional victory, gained dominance to push for a third set.

Moutet defended 4 early-game chances in a tight third set before the champion secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured victory with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
